Aims and Scopes

The Journal of Applied Engineering Sciences and Technology (JAEST) is a peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal published by the Faculty of Sciences and Technology, University of Biskra, Algeria. JAEST publishes original and high-quality research in applied engineering sciences and technology. Since 2026, the journal publishes four issues per year.

JAEST follows a diamond open-access model. Authors are not required to pay submission fees, article processing charges (APCs), or publication fees, and all published content is freely accessible to readers.

Aims & Scope

The journal aims to provide an international platform for researchers, academics, engineers, and practitioners to disseminate significant theoretical, experimental, computational, and applied contributions in engineering sciences and related technologies.

To disseminate high-quality original research that presents theoretical, experimental, numerical, and applied advances in the engineering sciences.
To promote innovative and forward-looking research addressing current and emerging scientific, technological, environmental, and industrial challenges.
To encourage multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary research connecting different branches of engineering and applied sciences.
To publish special issues containing selected high-quality papers from national and international scientific conferences, subject to the journal's editorial and peer-review procedures.

JAEST welcomes original research articles, short communications, and review papers in, but not limited to, the following areas:

Contributions in related interdisciplinary areas are also welcome, including renewable energy systems, energy efficiency, smart infrastructure, advanced materials, sustainable engineering, industrial processes, modelling and simulation, artificial intelligence in engineering, and sustainable resource management.

Language & Accessibility

Manuscripts are accepted in English.
All published articles are available through immediate open access.
JAEST publishes both electronic and print editions.
Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), and authors retain copyright of their published work.

Manuscript Types

Full-Length Research Articles: Original studies presenting novel experiments, methodologies, theoretical developments, numerical analyses, designs, simulations, or significant scientific findings.
Short Communications: Concise papers reporting timely, innovative, and scientifically significant results.
Review Papers: Comprehensive and critical reviews of recent developments, current research trends, scientific challenges, and future perspectives within the journal's scope.
