Plagiarism Policy
Plagiarism Policy
The Journal of Applied Engineering Sciences and Technology (JAEST) upholds strict standards of academic integrity and publication ethics. To ensure the originality and authenticity of the research we publish, all submitted manuscripts are systematically screened for plagiarism before the peer review process.
We use the professional plagiarism detection software Detectia to verify the originality of submitted content. This tool enables our editorial team to identify any unoriginal material or improper citations across a wide database of academic publications and online sources.
JAEST has established the following rules regarding similarity:
-
Submissions with a similarity index exceeding 30% will be automatically rejected.
-
If the similarity score is between 15% and 30%, the manuscript will be returned to the authors with a request to revise and properly paraphrase or cite the overlapping sections.
-
Similarity that results from references, standard phrases, or legally quoted material may be excluded from the total similarity index at the discretion of the editorial board.
Authors are fully responsible for ensuring that the content they submit is original, unpublished, and properly cited. This includes avoiding:
-
Plagiarism of other works
-
Self-plagiarism (republishing significant parts of one's own published work without citation)
-
Improper paraphrasing
-
Duplicate or redundant publication
JAEST takes plagiarism seriously. Any violation of these rules may result in immediate rejection or withdrawal of the article, even after publication if necessary.
We encourage all authors to check their manuscripts using a plagiarism detection tool before submission.
